DAY RIDE

FEBRUARY 15, 2012

On Wednesday February 15th, we took another Day Ride.

We left at 10am. The morning was damp and cold at 38 degrees. We both wore our Gerbing's heated jacket liner and heated gloves. We also had on our thermal lined chaps, our leather jackets, Milwaukee boots, our 3/4 Pilot helmets with face shield, and lastly- a neck warmer.

We took 640 East to Asheville Highway where we rode north until we got to 25/70 which took us into downtown Dandridge. We rode through Dandridge, took 92 and crossed the bridge continuing on to Chestnut Hill. In Chestnut Hill, we took 411 South to Sevierville.

In Sevierville, we took 449 and then jumped on 416 to 454 which took us through Pittman Center and onto Gatlinburg. In Gatlinburg, we stopped at the Little House of Pancakes for lunch.

It was right around 12:30 when we stopped, but we both got breakfast and the food was great. We've eaten here before, and while the place is not fancy, the folks are friendly and the food is good home cooking. We highly recommend.

Check out this cool bus that pulled up while we were eating.

This next sequence of photos was taken in the restaurant. It tells the story of why Pam takes most of the pictures.

Before we left the restaurant, we checked out the cool ride outside.

Then we got ready to ride.

We rode through Gatlinburg and stopped for gas before heading through the mountains on our way to Townsend.

The mountain roads were still wet and we even saw a small bit of snow. There wasn't much traffic and without the traffic congestion, it was an enjoyable time to see the beautiful Smokies.

We continued on through Townsend, got on 321 and rode to Maryville. We took Old Maryville Pike and rode back to Knoxville. We arrived home around 3:15pm. Our total ride was 140 miles.
